I approached this fellow standing at the door to his home and I asked him, in my broken Spanish, if I could take his picture. He nodded and gave me a just-a-moment finger. He retreated into his space, took his CAT cap and shades off the top of the fridge, sat down in what looked to be his favourite chair, put on the cap and shades, and paused. I was standing at the door, one foot on the stoop, one foot on the sidewalk, with my camera poised, watching him intently. He nodded and I took the picture. It is one of my fondest memories of my take on street photography; the quest of art in taking portraits of strangers.
